FAREWELL SCOTTY
In 2012 beloved actor James “Scotty” Doohan was an honored participant aboard the
New Frontier Flight – launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, FL. More than 10,000 people from all over the world sent messages of hope and comfort which we also launched to orbit aboard the same mission.
Will miss you. Thanks for openning my mind to things. You alway teamfully turns things around at the moment of need. I appreciate the learning of Scotty philosophy. I know you have reach your final frontier wishfully; rather than ashes to ashes, dirt to dirt, it is elements to elements, back to space, where we all came from. As spook said, live long and prosperous; in this case, may your energy remains un-dispersed and peaceful.

"Jimmy Doohan was a hearty, down-to-earth guy. Now, he will be more than that. He has asked that his remains be shot out to space. That is so you, Jimmy. When all of us who loved you look up at the vastness of the twinkling night sky, we'll know that you are truly there among the stars, beaming down at us from the heavens with that wonderful, sparkling smile of yours."

"I think if anyone really deserves to go into space who wanted to, perhaps it was Gene. After all Star Trek is our 20th Century mythology. What a marvelous place to go. There’s nothing that’s going to be in your way, and I would love to just keep on going out into space."

Next Mission: Voyager 01 – The Enterprise Flight
The first Celestis Voyager Service – currently scheduled for launch later in 2022 - will be named Enterprise Flight in special dedication to those on board, including honored participants Gene and Majel Barrett-Roddenberry and James Doohan.
In 1976, responding to a nationwide write-in campaign of Star Trek fans, President Gerald Ford renamed the first Space Shuttle “Enterprise,” hosting the cast and creator at the Sept. 17th Palmdale, CA ceremonial rollout of Enterprise. This merging of science fiction with reality using the global appeal of Star Trek is once again taking place as Celestis launches Voyager 01 – The Enterprise Flight.
Mission Details
The Voyager Memorial Spaceflight Service launches capsules with cremated remains or DNA on a mission into deep space – beyond the Earth-Moon system on an infinite journey of tribute and remembrance.
Celestis is working with providers to launch our Voyager service in 2022 and beyond. Our Voyager Service providers typically utilize a lunar fly-by boost to achieve escape from the Earth-Moon system, placing the Voyager capsules into a deep space trajectory. Details, including opportunities to participate in pre-launch activities, will be released soon.

"We also remember Len as the serious one -- from a young age he built his own rockets and did a lot of reading on starships and space exploration, which foretold his fascination with science fiction and Star Trek. We can all rest assured that Len's spirit has found the way at last."
