Travis Michael Casey

"Our 'SUPERHERO' we love you to the moon and back"
1994 - 2021

Travis Michael Casey was born on January 28, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio and lived in Grove City, Ohio until his passing on May 2, 2021 at the age of 27.

He is loved and missed by his parents Melissa & Anthony, brother Brock and sister Meghan who watched over him and loved being around him as he loved being around them. Travis was one of those kids growing up that everyone loved and always wanted to be around him.

He was diagnosed at the age of 5 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, by the age of 7 he was permanently in a wheelchair. He was a MDA Goodwill Ambassador, where he would go around to different events to talk about Muscular Dystrophy and help raise money for Jerry’s Kids. One thing in the summer he always looked forward to was going to MDA Camp, this was a camp that all the kids had a form of Muscular Dystrophy and it was where they could just be themselves.

Travis loved to play out in the common area with all the other neighborhood kids, during the summer this is where you would find Travis playing baseball or football with his friends, even though he was in a wheelchair it never stop him from being a kid and having fun.

While in school at Central Crossing High School he was on the News Team and enjoyed doing the Sports Report every morning. He had a passion for Marine Biology as well as going flying with good friend and neighbor Dave Gamble. As Travis got older he loved to hang out with Stu Hartwell & Eric Parsels on Friday nights sitting on the porch just talking about anything and everything that was going on especially sports. During the fall he loved spending time with family and friends watching his favorite college football team, The Ohio State Buckeyes; he also loved going to the games with his grandpa Steve Sellers.

Travis always looked forward to the next DC Super Hero movie to come out because this meant a trip out to the movies and dinner at one of his favorite restaurants.

Knowing his life expectancy it was Travis’s wish to have his ashes sent up into space so we are very pleased to be able to grant his wish.
