Tom Jean-Jacques Goyette

1935 - 2025

Tom Goyette, aged 90, passed away on October 21st. He was born in Biarritz, France, on January 4, 1935. He lived there with his family until the age of four, when they moved to New Jersey at the outbreak of World War II.

Tom was the first in his family to attend college. He graduated from Stevens Hoboken Institute of Technology with a degree in engineering, and was a true rocket scientist in the dawn of the space age. His career took him to Washington State, where he met and married Louise Skotdal. They had two children, Anne and Mike. The family had many adventures as Tom’s career took them to Colorado, Europe, Florida, and Maryland.

Tom and Louise were happily married for 50 years until she passed away in 2014. After Louise died, Tom fell in love with and married Marita Kilpatrick, a long-time family friend. They moved to Texas, where they had 11 wonderful years together in Sun City.

Tom will be remembered for his love of life and devotion to those he loved; his kindness and pay-it-forward mentality; a historic career and strong work ethic; and a life of adventure. He is survived by his wife, Marita; daughter, Anne; son, Mike; daughter-in-law, Corinne; grandsons, Gregory and Colin; stepson, Ty, and his wife, Penny; and step-granddaughter, Keeley. He will be greatly missed.
