Megan Hilary Williams

"You get to do what you always wanted to do."
1985 - 2021

Megan was born October 18, 1985 in Nashville, Tennessee and passed from this life on March 29, 2021. She was the middle child of three born to James and Juanita Williams. Megan attended Davidson Academy in Nashville, Tennessee from kindergarten through her senior year. Megan filled her life and many of her accomplishments were from a “Love of Life”.

Megan wanted to be an aviator or an astronaut early in life and when she was 10 she attended Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. In high school she was accomplished in her academics and loved being an active member of the drama team in high school. After high school Megan attended and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago and then went on to graduate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. After passing the Tennessee Bar of Law Megan transitioned to work as an attorney with Cordell and Cordell in Nashville, Tennessee. Megan was admitted to the National Advocates TOP 40 Under 40 in 2016 and was well respected in her law firm in Nashville as well as with others nationally with Cordell and Cordell.

A local judge in the Nashville area said of Megan…”she was professional, thorough, smart and extraordinarily human. She was a passionate Advocate for her client, but had a unique ability to see the ‘big picture’ in any case.”

Megan loved her family dearly and cherished family functions. As a child and teen she learned to love travel as her parents planned national and international trips with their three children and this carried through to her adult life in further travels throughout the world. She was unafraid to venture into new countries and new cultures and was planning many more trips to further widen her understanding of all.

We are missing you terribly Megan, your beautiful smile and fun loving personality. We will always treasure the short 35 years that we had you here on this earth. We love you dearly and hope your flight is all that you had always envisioned.  As the poet wrote in the poem High Flight…

“And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod The High untrespassed sanctity of Space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”

Love Dad and Mom, Jamie, Matt, Ben, Lindsay, Daphne, Ivy and Piper.
