Hana Jencek

"Always shooting for the moon!"
1939 - 2025

Hana was a strong, independent woman who was born during the Second World War in Czechoslovakia. She was the rebel who was always outspoken and fought for freedom during communism, for which she got persecuted. She finally was able to escape the communist regime with her two children during their “ski trip” to Austria in 1983. She and her two children eventually received political asylum in their Dream Country, the United States of America.

Hana always had a special relationship with the Moon. Her favorite sonata was Beethoven's Full Moon Sonata, and her wish was to die listening to it and to fly to the Moon after her passing.

Her first dream became true as she died peacefully at her home in the arms of her daughter, listening to the Full Moon Sonata while she took her last breath.

We are very happy we can fulfil her second dream with this journey. We will always remember her looking at the full moon, knowing she is watching over us.
