David Hayes

""To boldly go where no one has gone before""
1960 - 2017

David Roderick Hayes, who was better known simply as Dave or Dad, spent his entire life looking to the sky above with wonder and amazement. As a young boy he watched the moon landing, Star Trek, Star Wars, and so many more shows dedicated to exploring the universe and humanity. He shared a dream with many others of going where no one has gone before. His passions here on Earth included cooking and baking, camping, fishing and cycling. He loved music and would most certainly want the world to know he was a huge Rush fan… probably their number one… having seen them so many times in his life. He was able travel to much of Canada and the US, Mexico and even Australia, wanting to see and experience as much as he could but he always sought after a dream to one day be able to travel to space and be a part of something much bigger than the limitations of gravity itself. In his life he had a wonderful family including a loving sister, brother, mother and father. He was also a dedicated father himself and raised three strong, brave and kind women who also have that intrinsic desire to discover. Although Dave's time on Earth was short, it was full of experiences, family, adventure, and exploration. Now, in death, he will finally have his ultimate dream come true. To reach the stars.

"To the people who look at the stars and wish. To the stars who listen — and the dreams that are answered"
