Timothy (Tim) Jon Farris (June 14, 1944 – January 7, 2022) was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and devoted father whose life was defined by innovation, generosity, and purpose.
Born in Vinita, Oklahoma, Tim graduated from Vinita High School before serving in the United States Navy, where he developed his engineering expertise. He went on to build two successful technology companies, Quadram Corporation in Norcross, Georgia, and Boca Research in Boca Raton, Florida, reflecting both his vision and entrepreneurial spirit.
After retiring at an early age, Tim dedicated himself to his passions for farming and architecture, while investing deeply in the communities he loved. Guided by his personal mantra, “Helping Others Help Themselves,” he supported numerous charitable efforts. Through the Farris Foundation, he helped establish Noah’s Inn Children’s Haven in Pikeville, Tennessee, and provided four-year college scholarships to deserving students. He also gave generously of his time and resources to Habitat for Humanity, helping build homes and opportunities for others.
Above all, Tim was a loving father and grandfather whose legacy lives on through his family and the lives he touched. His children and their spouses include: David and Susan Farris of Dalton, Georgia; Cindy Farris of Suwanee, Georgia; and Mark and Jennifer Farris of Buford, Georgia. His grandchildren include Nicholas Farris, Chase Farris, Cooper Farris, Carter Ring, Kadyn Farris, and Jonathan Ring.
As his journey continues beyond Earth, his spirit carries forward among the stars.
