He Belonged to the World — and Now to the Stars

*****

Biography

Born in India, he later made his life in the United States. Throughout his life, two things defined him: people and technology. He spent his career in the technology field, always fascinated by how ideas and innovation could shape the future.

More than anything, he was someone who loved people—and was deeply loved in return.

During the 22 years we shared together, I watched him constantly share what he knew with others. Helping people and offering his knowledge freely was simply part of who he was. Whether it was a friend, a colleague, or someone who just needed advice, he was always willing to help.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had him as my husband. He had so many qualities that I loved: he was loving, caring, kind-hearted, intelligent, and patient. He always put family first. Even his stubbornness, his love of a good argument, and his straightforward personality were things I found charming and endearing.

He had a remarkable curiosity about the world and absorbed information like a sponge. I used to joke, “I don’t need Google—my husband knows everything.” 😁

His interests were wide and varied. He loved jazz and blues, followed many sports, and always found time to read. When he discovered a book he truly enjoyed, he often sent copies to friends so they could enjoy it too. He had a keen eye for art and an open, adventurous taste in food. Most importantly to me, he loved my cooking.

He was a true free spirit who loved the world. He traveled extensively and embraced different cultures with genuine curiosity and respect. In many ways, he did not belong to just one place—he belonged to the whole world.

I chose the Celestis memorial because I feel he belongs to the stars rather than beneath the ground. It is as simple as that.

I believe he is watching over me and all of us from above. There could be no better place for him than among the stars. I am sure he is smiling.
