At an early age, Dan was interested in photography, science fiction, and anything to do with outer space, whether watching movies, playing video games, or star gazing with his telescope. Dan went on to get a "Film and Television Production" degree. Dan held jobs in film editing and production on commercial projects. On his weekends, you could find him fishing on the Missouri River. As an avid Star Trek fan, Star Wars fan, and fan of all other outer space movies, he was a devoted Star Trekker! Dan had all of the series on tape and would watch and re-watch all the series, analyzing the scenes and explaining how each was filmed and the special effects employed to anybody who would listen. It is fitting that this is his final journey. We know that this spaceflight would bring a huge smile to his face!
