Cassidy Marr Dean passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by friends, family, and neighbors. He was deeply loved, endlessly memorable, and the kind of person whose presence changed the energy of a room the moment he walked into it.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Cassidy carried his roots with him wherever he went. After moving to Denver, he fully embraced Colorado life—especially cheering on the Colorado Rockies. Though he started as an Astros fan, he proudly adopted the Rockies as his team and rarely missed a chance to enjoy a game, especially when it meant sharing the experience with the people he loved. Baseball was never just about the game for Cassidy; it was about being together, telling stories, and making memories with the people around him.
Cassidy had a rare gift for making people feel welcome and included. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him once, he had a way of pulling you into his orbit and making you feel like you belonged there. He was funny, loyal, thoughtful, and quietly generous in ways that left lasting impressions on everyone around him. He showed up for people in the moments that mattered most—often without being asked and without expecting recognition in return.
He cared deeply about the world and the people in it. He believed in standing beside his friends, supporting his community, and advocating for the things he believed could make life better for others. That commitment to showing up—for causes, for conversations, and for the people he loved—never wavered.
Cassidy was the best partner in life—steady, supportive, funny, and endlessly present—and built a marriage grounded in friendship, shared values, and deep love. He and his wife, Leah, met through politics, something that remained a meaningful part of the life they built together. Their partnership was full of laughter, long conversations, baseball games, friendships, and the quiet everyday routines that become the foundation of a life shared well. He was also the very best dog dad, the kind who made space on the couch, planned his day around walks, and treated his dogs like family because to him, they truly were.
Cassidy is survived by his parents, Kerry & Cindy Caudle-Dean; his two brothers, Cody Dean and Kelly Dean; his two pugs, Sophie & Kate; his toy poodle, Ellie; and his wife, Leah Dean, who was his partner in everything. He is also survived by many friends, neighbors, and coworkers whose lives are better for having known him and whose stories together reflect the wide and lasting impact he made.
A celebration of Cassidy’s life was held at Coors Field, a place that reflected his love for baseball and for gathering people together. In true Cassidy fashion, the day was filled with stories, connection, laughter, and the unmistakable reminder of how many lives he touched.
Cassidy’s absence is immeasurable, but so is the impact he made. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his loyalty, and the way he made people feel seen, included, and cared for. He is deeply missed and will never be forgotten. In his memory, his family encourages others to support colon cancer awareness, early screening, and research so that more families can have the time together that Cassidy fought so hard for.
