Carrie Elizabeth Bisgard passed away from natural causes on August 4, 2025. She lived a full and happy life, surrounded by loved ones, right up to the night she left us.
Carrie was born December 4, 1969 in St. Louis, MO. She grew up surrounded by a family that loved and adored her in Cape Girardeau, MO. She loved theatre and music, and played cello for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for a time. Always a good student, she went on to graduate from Truman College, continuing her interests in the arts. She enjoyed college and made life-long friends. In the summers, she and her friends worked as entertainers in various Six Flags Over America shows.
When her family moved to Santa Fe, NM, she followed. She worked as a flight attendant based in NYC for a time, going back to Santa Fe when she had time off. And that is when she met the love of her life, Brad Bisgard.
Following one of the funnest courtships on record, she and Brad married on the rooftop of a gourmet wine and food restaurant. It was their destiny to become great lovers of all things culinary. Thanksgiving was the most revered of all holidays, and it was always a fine dining event. They loved to travel, and Carrie would research each destination, complete with a tabbed notebook with all the restaurants they had to visit.
In their thirties, they made their home in Southern California. Soon, they had two children, bought a house, and began building their life together as a family. Professionally, Carrie excelled in becoming an educator extraordinaire, creating new programs to help children in need of alternate opportunities to excel. It was a principal position at the El Dorado County Office of Education that brought the Bisgards to Cameron Park, outside Sacramento, in 2021.
Carrie was a lover of fine wines and great foods, Irish music, storytelling, Star Wars, and being the life of the party. She will be so very missed.
From Brad: She was above all kind, funny, smart as a whip, adventurous, and so gorgeous. I do not feel like anything was left unsaid, which is such a blessing. We shared our truly deep love daily.
