Bernard J. Lynch IV, aged 63, known affectionately as Bernie to his friends and family, now joins the stars in his epic space journey.
Bernie’s love and admiration for family was one of his most profound qualities. Loving husband to Ellenmarie, and father to Michael, Matthew, Charlotte, and the late Christopher, Bernie was a selfless man who put his loved ones and friends before anything. His love for his granddaughter will continue long after he is gone, and his namesake will be remembered in his grandson’s. He was the car ride you needed; the advice you were looking for; and the humor to raise your spirits.
He was a founder of Fire System Technology and proudly worked for 24 years in the Boston area. Bernie's colleagues knew him as a very dedicated man with wisdom and ingenuity rarely seen. His career was storied and memorable to all whose paths crossed with his. His love for his work is survived by two of his children, who now run the company he had helped create.
Bernie’s passions were evident. He was a movie and television buff who enjoyed a glass of scotch alongside his favorite shows. His bright orange Bronco made him stand out as he enjoyed cross-country road trips to visit family and friends. An avid amateur radio enthusiast, Bernie’s callsign of KC1-MSN would be recognized among airwaves and across continents as a joyous and poignant voice.
Bernie was many things. He was a family man. He was a friend. He was a selfless worker. Above all, Bernie was an experience. He was unforgettable. His will shines in the hearts of everyone he touched.
