The letter "Y"et another journey-only fitting for someone who completed many journeys in her lifetime. Theresa was the "lady with tenacity," always bouncing back from overwhelming odds only to strive further in her quest for knowledge.

Theresa was born in Detroit on September 28, 1920. She graduated from high school at 15 and went on the excel in many areas. Theresa was the mother of two daughters, Carolyn and Rebecca, and the grandmother of Mary, Renee and David. She had a passion for the legal profession and was a successful businesswoman. One of her proudest points was achieving the long-time goal of establishing and directing a resource center for recovering alcoholics. At the age of 66, Theresa was inducted as a member of Phi Theta Kappa through her college courses in computer science.

One goal Theresa did not realize in her lifetime was to see the Year 2000. For her family this flight symbolizes the realization of that goal. Theresa's family will celebrate the New Millennium with their eyes toward the heavens. At family gatherings everyone laughed about how Theresa took the saying "Beam me up, Scottie" a little more seriously than most. She thought that wouldn't be such a bad idea. Well, here goes!

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
